Script to Screen • Old Ideas

After taking to someone in the second year something came into light that has opened the door to a plethora of ideas.
The recommendation from this guy was to look for synonyms, alternate meanings for things.

A pilot is not just the driver of a plane, but space ships, normal ships, submarines and mechsuits.
An observatory is a lookout like I was already working on but there are multiple routes to go with this.
A painting is a painting, a piece of art created but there is nothing to say that 'painting' stood for an object itself, it could be the verb. You can paint just about anything.
Digital painting is a form of painting so it seems it could be the form of creating an image.
Although modeling is not, even though its an art it is not considered a painting.


As I thought more on the pilot part these posts came to mind.

    

All of which were from Tumblr or Reddit but share the idea of the human body being piloted by the brain.
So the 'mechsuit' idea came back.

What if some mystical creature took over the minds of artists to make them create things, to either show us fantastical designs or horrific images.
A way to show the world of humans realities that they cannot bear witness.
My first thought is to look into will-o-wisps as they are mysterious but also appear fire-like so gives me a starting point for their possible designs.
They could also be too small to do anything themselves and this they take a seat in our minds and pilot our thoughts.

Another possibly point to start from is Ori from Ori and the Blind Forest.

Ori though seems rather innocent with a possible wisp inspiration to him.
They are described as a spirit guardian but the powers they use is spirit flames, which are very much reminiscent of will-o-wisps.

Ori is rather large for my plans though, but I think I shall use their design as a starting point.

Observatories I was thinking a glass dome

Image on the left is the Lowell Observatory and the right is the observatory from the game Subnautica.

But this has given me an idea of 'the observatory of the universe'
