Career Pack • Part 1
To date the work and comment on what was covered, I've decided it best to make a blog post.
I found this presentation difficult to focus on today, I have not been sleeping too well and have been struggling to focus.
The main tips I seem to have gotten was to mainly get some help with self-esteem and confidence, as a student before I go into the industry.
It felt a little like this lesson was very targeted although it probably wasn't.
Also to make sure a job is paying, some companies extort graduates, claiming to give them experience and stocks and shares but no actual payment.
When looking to apply for a job
looking at a job application
do some research on the studio and job offered in particular
possible travel times and prices included
Salary - if its negotiable look into how its paid, but do it even if there is a given price
compare the salary to what you can live on
might want a demo reel to have a variation of processes and animation to show what you can do
each CV needs to be altered for each job application, everything needs to be tailored.
make sure to copy the reference number to the cover letter/CV.
it is always there, reputation is always known by others.Mistakes are remembered
but also so are positive things
